Cour Carrée du Louvre
FIAC 2006 at the Louvre
Fiac approached the Musée du Louvre with the ambition of providing high quality exhibition conditions in a prestigious site, quintessentially emblematic of Paris and close to the Grand Palais, for 80 high-profile international galleries presenting contemporary and cutting edge creation in a resolutely energetic and prospective spirit.
Within an ephemeral architecture of great quality, respectful of the exceptional nature of the site and preserving its accessibility to the general public, the Cour Carrée of the Musée du Louvre will provide a unique context for the presentation of the art of today.
The choice of this venue is inscribed in the framework of a multi-faceted partnership with the Musée du Louvre which will notably permit the elaboration of an ensemble of outdoor projects implanted in the Tuileries gardens and the grounds of the Musée du Louvre, comprising installations and monumental works proposed by exhibiting galleries.
